Countdown: About 6 Months

These pictures are from 7.31.06 - I have just been a bit lazy in getting them actually posted. In the picture I am just over 12 weeks. Oddly enough, I remember at the time feeling like I was starting to "show." Now - 4 weeks later & still barely showing - I am thinking I look great in those pictures. Although, I have now resorted to a rubberband holding shut my favorite jeans & am trying to wear them as much as possible. So I guess at the time of the pictures I was just "feeling" very pregnant - eating was no fun...nothing sounded good, but a bowl of cereal and I was always on the verge of puking. Ew. Gross.

Anyway, hopefully the above title doesn't imply that we have a paperchain of "Days til Baby is Born"...we definitely don't (although we are totally allowed to do stupid things like that since it is our first - so back off). However, it is one of those things you anticipate coming along, just like Christmas comes every December and isn't it funny how each year Christmas seems to come faster than you thought? That is how I feel about this baby. Before we know it, he/she will be here & we really aren't going to be ready for it - no matter how much we plan and think we will be. So I have already decided to give myself a break and realize that I will be sorely unprepared for the changes that lie ahead. All you parents out there: feel free to laugh and find much enjoyment as we realize the sacrifices of parenthood first hand. I'm sure it will be a great show.

Well as for other news - there really isn't any! Prior to this we were probably very boring and somewhat selfish people, but to be brutally honest (as always) I enjoyed every bit of my eating out, shopping, seeing movies & traveling on a whim while all you parents looked on longingly - don't you deep down miss some of those days? And I intend to shove as much of that into the next 6 months as possible!!! (Although shopping the maternity section is a TOTAL drag!) So to anyone childless out there who needs a shopping companion - I'm free! (Or even if you have kids and want to get a babysitter, I'm free for you too!) Okay, now I have taken it too far, huh?

More next time...(I'm sure you're on the edge of your sit in anticipation)

I love your blog! I didn't know you started one. Thanks for the shout out in your first entry.

Oh my gosh! I am so excited for you guys. Babies, babies, babies. I love when our friends have babies. Congratulations.

I want to hear everything. Are you sick? Are you tired? Do you feel like you are having a boy or girl? When do you find out? When is your due date?

Too many questions right? Email me leahhumberstone@yahoo.co

Hey guys,

It's me Spencer, not Melody as the log in name would imply.

She set up her own blog here just a few days ago to get in some creative writing experience. She's been working on a few books and also wants to get out some of her aggravation here on the internet.

Anyway, congrats on the kid. Hey Scott, maybe our kids will see eachother once every billion years eh?

Amy, your belly is so cute. Just wait until it explodes into a really pregnant belly. If you decide to post those pictures you are braver than I was. But anyways congrats on the baby and best of luck. Enjoy all the ups and downs of pregnancy and remember to eat what you want. Baby needs what baby wants.
Love, Kami

Jarv,
I finally got around to looking at your web site. Cute pics! Although your tummy looks better than mine 7 months AFTER having my third kid. Anyway, are we going to find out a gender or no? Let us know. . .
