The Windy City...

That would be Chicago. It was a blast sums it up nicely. We flew out Thursday evening with a few tears shed by me when I had to leave Scooby. I obviously got over my sadness, because I thoroughly enjoyed the entire trip. We stayed at The Drake...a Hilton just off Michigan Ave...right across the street from Louis Vuitton (nope didn't even enter the store...no point really).
Louis Vuitton store...on our way to Wicked

Anyway, Friday was spent shopping & exploring the city and then we went to Wicked that night. Loved, loved, loved it! It was so cute & fun. Even Scot really liked it. On Saturday, Steve & Kara came & spent the day with us on Navy Pier...lunched, shopped, golfed (mini, that is) and the boys caught a White Sox game that evening while the girls, shopped some more. Really there is no lack of shopping to be done.

Navy Pier...Mind you, I got called out from some high school girls regarding my flip flops in the fall. Apparently that is a no-no. I found it hilarious, because it was a comment I would have totally thought/said about someone. My defense...have a kid & then call me & we'll talk. Comfort always wins out my friends. No more 4 -inch stilleto boots everyday. Those are saved for special occasion only!Scot, Me, Kara & Steve...Steve & I have been friends since 10th grade...needless to say, we had a good time reliving the "Glory Days" of our dorkiness!

We also did a boat tour on the Chicago River...definitely cool. The river cuts right through down town & there is a ton of construction going on with a new Trump Tower, which by the way is huge. It was pretty cool to see it all.

Can you guess where this picture was taken??? Probably not...it was in the elevator of the hotel we stayed out. What an idea...a couch to sit on for the ride.

On Saturday night, we headed up, down, or over (I really lost all sense of direction) to Milwaukee where Steve & Kara lived. They have the cutest house & even cuter little girl. It was so enjoyable to catch up & spend some time together. We love those guys! Sunday brought 9 am church (okay we only stayed for sacrament, because we were beat by this point) but we did get to hear Steve speak. We enjoyed a quick birthday lunch & cake before we had to head back to the airport to come home.

It was a fun trip with lots going on and not much down time, but we loved it. It was nice to get away for a couple of days & know that Zack was well taken care of. Thanks to my mom & sister for all your help!!! We had a blast!
