The Week (thus far) in Review

We kicked off the weekend with all of Scot's family in town for Blake's baby blessing. We shopped, we played, we ate, we visited & we ate some more...oh yeah & we had the baby blessing too! All I have to show for the blessing is our own family picture -- Kristy has all the others. But we do clean up nice if I say so myself.
Monday found us at the grocery store...mundane I know, but I had really put this chore off for far too long & it was a lengthy trip! On ONE other occasion I had let Zack sit in the "race car" shopping cart & I have yet to decide if this was a mistake or a stroke of genius. Now every shopping trip must be had in the race car cart & if the store...ie Target, doesn't have one, well then he will patiently remind you by screaming, "CAAAAAAAAAR!" through the entire trip. Popcorn is a mediocre substitute. However, on my mega trips to Fry's where they do have the race car shopping cart, he will happily babble the whole way through...beeping & vrooming at every passerby. Now if only, I could see over the thing.

Tuesday
marked a fabulous day. I got so much done in both arenas of my life...motherhood & work, and to be honest it doesn't usually balance out that way in one day...one side usually wins. We spent the morning with our playgroup at the park eating donuts, chatting & kissing scrapped knees & the like. It was beautiful weather & reminded me why I love Arizona soo much! In the afternoon I had a meeting with Ronald McDonald House Charities regarding them using Speek for fundraising purposes, etc. It was a good meeting for several reasons. First, they liked the product, always good, and two it restored my confidence in my career abilities. While I haven't ever been out of the work force after having Zack, I sure feel like I have been. Working from home in your comfys is rewarding & so convenient & great for me, but I was nervous to put back on my work wardrobe & meet with clients -- I'm not certain why, I used to do it all the time...and maybe that's just it...I used to...typically I only meet with co-workers & they are a-okay with my jeans. I am out of practice I suppose. But moreso, I'm not the same person I was before having Zack & I haven't reoriented myself to my new self in that setting. But things went well & I realized I don't need to freak out...just say a prayer & move on.

After my meeting we welcomed an appliance repair man. As you can see Zack was all about getting the perfect viewing angle. And as it turns out...the dishwasher door had a broken piece, which I thought must have certainly been caused by a certain 2-year-old. Turns out it wasn't. Cool...although broken is broken regardless the reason, right?

After such a busy day a pizza was in order...we ate it on the lawn. No cooking, minimal clean up, fabulous weather...total bonus.

Life is good.
