Thanksgiving 2009

This year's Thanksgiving found us particularly thankful. Not that we aren't always thankful, but this year...well it was extra thankful. Our health. Our family. Our livelihood. Our Savior. We are most thankful for them all.We listed our thankfuls on our thankful tree.

Can you tell this was a 'no shower' Monday? Filled with grocery shopping, park day, Christmas lights & various other sundry tasks that needed to be completed? Sometimes that is just how we roll.
We cooked.

and celebrated another bun in the over. I'll give you a clue...it is not me, nor my sister & most definitely not my mother. #5 for Julie is on its way...after 4 girls, we suppose this one will follow suit...but my mom, sister & I are already mulling over the bash of the century if he turns up a boy!
We watched football.

We ate.

My mom really outdid herself with this bird. We were planning on scrapping the whole turkey thing all together & doing steaks, but my dad over ruled, stating that the grandkids needed to have traditional memories as well. hmm...the bird was good, but over steaks? I don't know about that. I suppose I am just not a big turkey fan.
We played.

With 10 grandkids we had all sorts of relay games, bike rides & basically any competition you can think of. And it was all fun & games until I got drilled in the face with a plastic basketball. Thanks Kev. You're a gem.

And...we chilled.
The fam sans my mother...the photographer.
And the next day?

We shopped our guts out. OD'ed on Diet Coke & loopy from lack of sleep. Needless to say, we laughed ourselves silly at really stupid things. I think Black Friday should happen more often.

Happy Thanksgiving.
