Thanksgiving 2009

This year's Thanksgiving found us particularly thankful. Not that we aren't always thankful, but this year...well it was extra thankful. Our health. Our family. Our livelihood. Our Savior. We are most thankful for them all.We listed our thankfuls on our thankful tree.

Can you tell this was a 'no shower' Monday? Filled with grocery shopping, park day, Christmas lights & various other sundry tasks that needed to be completed? Sometimes that is just how we roll.
We cooked.

and celebrated another bun in the over. I'll give you a clue...it is not me, nor my sister & most definitely not my mother. #5 for Julie is on its way...after 4 girls, we suppose this one will follow suit...but my mom, sister & I are already mulling over the bash of the century if he turns up a boy!
We watched football.

We ate.

My mom really outdid herself with this bird. We were planning on scrapping the whole turkey thing all together & doing steaks, but my dad over ruled, stating that the grandkids needed to have traditional memories as well. hmm...the bird was good, but over steaks? I don't know about that. I suppose I am just not a big turkey fan.
We played.

With 10 grandkids we had all sorts of relay games, bike rides & basically any competition you can think of. And it was all fun & games until I got drilled in the face with a plastic basketball. Thanks Kev. You're a gem.

And...we chilled.
The fam sans my mother...the photographer.
And the next day?

We shopped our guts out. OD'ed on Diet Coke & loopy from lack of sleep. Needless to say, we laughed ourselves silly at really stupid things. I think Black Friday should happen more often.

Happy Thanksgiving.

My Thanksgiving Photo Journal

It was a whirlwind of a weekend...here are the main events:

With all the rain we actually got to wear jackets! Woohoo!

You know when it is just a bit too quite? We were enjoying our cinnamon rolls on the patio when I realized Zack had been missing for a millisecond too long & it seemed a bit suspicious. He didn't beg one of us to ride the razors to the side yard with him like he usually does...he happily went by himself. I grabbed the camera & could hear the sloshing before I even turned the corner...have I mentioned he is all boy??? except for the times he insists on riding the ONE princess scooter as opposed to one of his 2 razors or his Harley Davidson scooter...no, no, no, he wants Lucy's pink princess one. Whatev. Lucy was nice enough to drive him around in the jeep all morning as Zack couldn't quite get the mechanics of driving this thing.
Lindsey's the only member of the Boyer family that can cook a decent roll & thankfully hers are more than decent...they are delish!

I think the caption says it best -- this is the best picture I got??? eek. Just be glad I didn't post the other one I took. And for the record I haven't had one bite of this bird -- just not a big turkey fan. I filled up on Julie's au gratin potatoes that are to die for...seriously, they are that good.
All Deb.
My brother, his wife & 2 of their 4 girls. Love this picture!Dallin & Kevin are a match made in heaven -- they both play the guitar (Dallin with a bit more finesse) and they both dress like slobs & think it's cool (Kevin with a bit more dorkiness...look at those shorts??? and a tank top??? good grief.)
Jason always has to serenade us with an impromptu "blues" number -- it usually leaves us all laughing & Beau & McCall red-faced with embarrassment.

Zack enjoyed the entertainment...and was entertainment himself
We played dodge ball Thanksgiving afternoon in the cultural hall & might I say, it totally stunk to be prego. I was thinking I would play anyway -- you know, it's family, they won't nail me sort of thing was my thought process. Let's just say 30 seconds into the game we had an injury. We started off with adults & kiddos playing at the same time & literally 30 seconds into the game my brother-in-law nailed my 9 year-old little cousin. He seriously just buckled & fell to the floor. Oops. He had a welt on his back the next day! Sorry Austin! After that we separated kiddos & adults.

Friday found us shopping & I'm happy to say Zack's Christmas is done. Yes you heard me...DONE!

Saturday found us on a bike ride through the neighborhood with a stop at Sonic for a drink. There were about 10 of us & as the guy came out on his skates to bring us our tray full of drinks & goodies, he almost bailed. And it would have been injury inducing. We were all trying to keep our laughter to ourselves, but man, you put a gangley teenage boy on roller skates & put a tray of drinks in his hands & he is struggling not to fall -- it's hard to keep that laughter to yourself!! We at least waited until he went back inside -- and we're still laughing.

The Framptons headed out Saturday night & it was a sad good bye -- well at least for Beau & McCall -- the little love birds! They are so cutE! And actually, we all hate to see them go...until Newport!

Homecoming...Thanksgiving...and Sea World

Scot and I headed out to San Diego Tuesday night for the Thanksgiving weekend. Thus far, it has been a fun-filled, jam-packed weekend!
On Wednesday, Scot's sister, Monica returned home from her mission. It was so great to see her & while it seems like she never left, she definitely did! She is still her same cute, fun, athletic self, but oh so much better. She has served the Lord well & it shows. Love that! It is good to have her home...she's the only Gregory that is as competitive as me! :)
Wednesday night found us at the park playing hand ball (which surprisingly enough I've never played) and it was FREEZING. Serious, it hasn't been so cold here since, well I can't remember since. I had to hit up Target to get Zack footy jammies, extra blankets & even a beenie (and yes, he's had to use it all). BRRR!
Thanksgiving was filled with the usual....food. food. food and I actually don't have one picture of the actual day itself.
Today...black Friday...found me at, well, Sea World. Nope...not the mall, but Sea World. Zack was a trooper & was enthralled with Shamu. Me being the sappy mom that I am found myself about brought to tears at his cute excitement. Funny how the cheesy inspirational music of "believe" combined with your son's excitement can about bring you to tears. I'm lame, I realize, but it was really cute...too cute.
Here is Zack transfixed on the Shamu show...what a cutie!
Today Scot's grandparents also made there way to town for Monica's homecoming...as you can see, Zack was having a blast!

Don't worry...tomorrow...Shop Day.
