Zack had his 6 month check up today...crazy that it has been 6 months, but he checked out fine, with exception to a cold he has, teething, oh yeah and an ear infection! What kind of mother am I? I had no clue. Luckily his ear infection isn't too bad & he doesn't even need to take anything for it. Phew...at least I wasn't denying him some helpful drugs, right? Not surprisingly, he is in the 10th percentile for everything, but weight...for weight he really out did himself & is in the 5th percentile...quite a bruiser we've got on our hands. To be honest, I am glad I only have to lug around his 14 little pounds...wouldn't I look silly carrying around some 20 pound baby? Although, today I realized I must look goofy enough carrying around little Zack...
While sitting in the waiting room at the doctor's the front desk girl called Zack up (to pre-pay his co-pay), so I got up with him and she looks at me and says, "Oh is your mom here?" You know in that I-am-talking-to-a-child voice. It was difficult for me to not bust out laughing at her, as she was probably younger than me. Funny when you have to inform people that you ARE the mother. Oddly enough, that was the second time today! I suppose the gym clothes & hat that I have been prancing about in today haven't helped so much. I look forward to the day when I am 40...hopefully people are still thinking I look young!

Can I just say I found this post quite hilarious and amusing!Looking young Im sure will pay off some day!
That is so funny, I had to tell Reddin and he just started laughing. It should make you feel good.
My cousin also took her little guy in for his check-up and found he had an ear infection- mother of the year award to you guys! At least it hasn't been bothering him that much, or you'd know! It's nice you don't take offense to people thinking you're 12, quite funny if I do say so myself!
Amy, Enjoy looking young it doesn't last. Once I was giving a 3 year old birthday party for my oldest and we were playing games. One of the children said to me "Are you supposed to be the Mom?" I considered that the highest compliment.
I can't believe Zach is already 6 months!! Even though Zach is a little guy don't you love it, when they are that small you get to have a baby longer!! At Austins 6 month appt. he weighed 15lbs 1oz, so he wasn't to far off from Zach. Hows he doing with spitting up? Thats why Austin didn't gain lbs. all he did was spit/throw up.
I am a friend of Amberly's and I have a boy named Jack and he is 6 months old and 20 lbs. Let me tell you, he is heavy to lug around. He is the opposite of your Zack - everything in the 90% percentile. We call him "sir chubs-a-lot" I'll think of you when I start wearing a back brace to carry Jack around.
i don't know if you remember me from the ward...but, your little guy is such a cutie! i can't believe he weighs at 6 lbs...what mine does at 2! I've really got a chunk! Cute blog!-felicia
