I am in desperate need of some church clothes that are NOT dry clean only, so needless to say I was excited about my purchase (100% cotton & machine washable...gotta love that). When I tried it on for Scot however, he promptly informed me that is was a "mom" dress! Serious? What does he want me to be some some vixen in sacrament meeting with spit on me??? I thought he would be stoked about all my bargins. I did hold back on the shoes, which is a rarity...opting for the more practical, as opposed to the $100 red patent leather stilettos I was contemplating. Let's be honest...stilettos are just not very baby friendly as I am walking the halls for 3 hours. Maybe to "vixen" the dress up a bit (is that even possible???) I should pair it with the stilettos and let my toes duke it out...hmmm.
Anyway, let me know what you think. Scot told me that he didn't want me to just settle for this dress because it was on sale (this is probably because he doesn't really like it), but to get what I like/want...which really translates into something that he likes/wants. Soooo, seeing as how it isn't very often that Scot gives me the go ahead on shopping I figured I should probably take him up on it. Unbeknownst to him, I will be hitting Chandler Mall Saturday afternoon (during Z's nap) to make my final decisions. If any of you are up for a child-free trip, let me know!
Don't forget to cast your vote on the dress!!!

You've got our vote! I can see perhaps where Scot is coming from because sometimes when I try on a high-waisted something, I feel it is a bit maternity-ish, but it's totally the style right now. I asked Denten for his honest opinion and he doesn't think it's momish at all, he likes it. I think you paired it with fun summer shoes and the whole ensemble looks quite hip and fashionable! Don't let that stop you from getting something ridiculously expensive if you find it this weekend though! good luck!
It is not dowdy and is not Amish like, it is really a cute dress and the shoes are great. But, if you husband has the fortitude to stand up and say he doesn't like it, buy something else. If you don't he may never tell you the truth about how you look again.
I think it's cute. I love the colors and the pattern... but, it doesn't show off so much of your cute and tiny shape! And stilettos always help with the look (at least, according to MY husband). Hey, if you've got the shopping go ahead, do it! Hahaha.
you and your a.t. loft obsession....you kill me!!
I think the dress is great. I think it is perfect for summer. what time are you going to the mall on Saturday?
i think the dress (and shoes) are darling! the bold color makes it un-matronly. and besides, given the dress was on sale perhaps now you can continue to look for something else too. :) i am always up for the double deal!
