this morning zack was up at 5 am...well actually i started hearing him about a quarter to, but the sleep cobwebs were thick. thankfully we were able to at least keep him in his crib until about 7:15 with intermittent outbursts & tending to. it has been a long day since.
but even when he is cranky & up at 5 am, he is still irresistible. when i walked into his room this morning (at 5 am) he was sitting up & greeted me with his staccato little, "hi." for some reason that just makes it okay.
i am nervous about all the upcoming changes coming his way. a new house, a new baby, a big boy bed & hopefully some potty training are all quickly approaching his unsuspecting self. i like to think he'll adjust just fine to the baby, he seems to love everyone else's, but i'm sure there will be some growing pains there. it is the house i am worried most about. he has grown so accustomed to a full house living with my parents. he loves his nursery friends & all the surrounding neighbors, that i hate to uproot him & then throw in more changes. in the same breath it will be good for us to be in our own house again & functioning as our own family, so it is a toss up & i have to take the good with the bad i suppose.
on another note, i haven't hardly even thought about the new baby coming our way, other than being excited. i have been so consumed with house stuff, work stuff & zack that this 2nd baby hardly gets any of my thoughts. it is difficult to put a feeling to it, other than to say i have come to know zack so well over the last 2 years...his likes, dislikes and all his little quirks in between...and i just love that kid. i so don't want him to feel lost in the shuffle, so baby number 2 gets put on the back burner. which really doesn't make sense, because they are both mine, but that is how it goes right now.

I felt the exact same about my second one, but somehow when the little one is here, they still get all the love you had for your fist one. Besides, the 2nd one is great because the 1st is always there to be a big helper.
the crazy life of a mom! soon you will learn to juggle more than just work, Zack, and house. You'll be great! you are a master at time management I'm sure!
Not to worry. Things just seem to take care of themselves. Zack will love his new little someone? When are we finding out?
And thus we have the middle child or second child syndrom starting. No matter how hard you try, the second child will not get the same amount of attention of the first child. It is impossible. Guess what, everyone will survive and you will be blessed, but you already know that don't you.
