O Christmas Tree

We slaved and slaved to find the "perfect" tree -- everyone submitted their opinions & finally a decision was made...and the tree hauled in from the garage! And yes, that would be Scot in shorts, a tee shirt & flips while setting up the Christmas tree in December. ahh, gotta love the desert...
All the boys were on hand to bring it in & once the ladder was brought out, Zack was all hands on deck ready to help! The best part about artificial trees is that the lights are already strung!!! Yay, just plug it in & voila! This may not sound like that big of a deal to you, but let me assure you after growing up with a perfectionist mother who required that the lights be strung on each & every branch from the outside of the tree to the inside of the tree & all cords & wires well hidden etc, etc, etc...well you can see why I am in love with a pre-lit tree. My idea of stringing lights correlates directly with Deb's & thus is a huge time saver & to be honest argument avoider at our house...I mean my parent's house! ha!
After plugging in those glorious pre-strung lights we all must help to "fluff" the branches. Again, there is a right & a wrong way to do this...when you have a minute my mom or I would be more than willing to let you in on the procedure...and then you too could have perfectly fluffed branches. Just imagine the bliss. Zack was more than willing to learn the ropes...and Nana was more than willing to teach him!
Once his training course was completed he was promoted to help grandpa {who could use some more training of his own in this department} & of course the ladder was necessary.
And in the event, that this all sounds too perfect & picturesque...this is how the evening ended! Notice there isn't a picture of the finished tree? That is because Z & I didn't last that long -- and to be honest my skills in the accessory {not ornaments...accessories, mind you & yes those are different than the ornaments...I can do the ornaments!} department are not up to par with Debs! HA!
