Names???

Scot & I have had several inquiries as to what this kiddos name will be...and to be honest we haven't even discussed it one bit. Okay, I take that back...Sunday over lunch we discussed it with my family. But really it was more of a laugh sesh of stupid names & what ifs...so it doesn't really count. I suppose that is what happens when it is Christmas, we're moving & there is a 2 year-old in the mix...no time!

So far the only two names that have been discussed are Piper & Marley. I really loved Piper before I found out it was a girl, but now that it is really a girl I am second guessing myself. Will she hate me when she is 25 & applying for a job & her name is Piper??? I don't know...that name needs to marinate a bit...and please don't be too harsh in your criticism of it, because it may turn out to be her name! And Marley, that is my mom's favorite...I don't know about that one yet. I like it a lot, but it just isn't clicking for me...again, it needs to marinate a bit.

With Zack, I heard the name & that was it. He was Zack. It took a while to get to finding the name Zack, but once we both heard it, we instantly loved it. And it just suits him. I am hoping the same thing happens with this one. Regardless, Scot will have to read the whole name book...and no, I am not kidding. :)

Soo, send me all your ideas. It can be crazy, cute, whatever -- we have no thoughts on the topic yet & I could use some ideas to get my brain going.

Oh another name I like is Claire, but Scot is a no-go on that one. crap.

And by the way, I probably won't tell you what we decide until the sissy gets here...so, it can be a little surprise.

Amy - I am having the same struggle. Piper is cute....I've actually seen it in use once and it was spelled Pyper...maybe a little more feminine? I will check back often to see people's suggestions...we need help too! Good luck!

PLEASE don't name it some wierd and crazy name! and PLEASE don't spell it wierd either. I always go by think of the poor kid in kindergarten trying to spell their name and sound it out and #2 when your kid is older and has a career and standing in front of a group of people in a board meeting etc. you want them to have a decent, normal and professional name. Not some lame name that sounds like it was made up. Sorry I think people go WAY over board in the name department. Can you tell it is my pet peeve. I think Claire is heading down the right path. Marley...ummmm...yikes! just my opinion! love ya though!

You'll still love her if her name is Marley, right Ems? haha...I have to say I agree with you for the most part, but I might be a little more liberal!

My sister Heather is naming her baby girl Claire, I love that, what do you think about Chloe? I can totally picture you with a little Chloe.

Too funny that you posted this because just like 20 minutes ago Kris saw the name Piper on something and said he really liked that name! So if Kris' vote counts he's all for Piper!

I actually love both names Piper and Marley equally. I just met a little girl names Marley not too long ago and for real, she was the cutest little thing and when I heard her name it just added that much more cuteness!
I think they are both darling, and both sound nice with Zack..

That being said, my girls are Minie and Poppy so take my opinion with a grain of salt.. and I'm also I'm pretty sure I didn't meet Emily's standard ;)

Revealing baby names is dicey stuff. I think Piper is cute and I'm a big fan of Claire, although it sounds like that one might be off the table.

This time around Cam and I have picked two names and we're waiting to see the little guy before we decide. I guess we're "those people."

We've already had this discussion... but I am all about a name that instantly "fits." It's hard to explain, but you know what I mean :)

Cute names. I had a really good friend in college named Marlee. I always thought she had such a great name. Good luck! Names are so hard to figure out.

Only because I feel your pain, I'm pulling out my name file in Microsoft Word. Seriously, we have kept a running list since our first kid. So here's our girls names: Laeh, Moriah, Tallyson, Sophie, Lydia, Holly, Annie, and obviously Elle Kate and Tatum Lily. I love the name Lily spelled Lillie. I also like the name Laila (pronounced lay-la).

I have withheld our litle girl name that we KNOW for SURE we will use. I just don't want it OUT THERE. But I'll tell ya in person anytime. It's so different I don't think anyone would want it anyway.

Good luck-
