I have a confession. Thus far this season, I have probably only watched 10 Suns games. total. This is unusual. Back in the day my mom would have dinner ready at game time. They just were not missed. Scot & I were talking about it & I told him I might start paying more attention after the All-Star break, but with how they were playing it was looking bleak. Kevin had at least kept me up to snuff on all their lame losses & frankly, they just weren't very fun to watch anymore. Why bother with the heart break...again. Been there. Done that.
But truth be told...I missed it.
I got an email from a high school friend yesterday who is almost as big a Suns fan as me. Back in the day, I think he was just impressed that a chick knew just as many stats as he did. Fast forward 10 years & he lives across the country, we still keep in touch & usually the emails pick up when there is some Suns buzz. I have to quote his email: "P.S Last time I left AZ the Suns had a 2 time MVP, winning 80 plus games a year with a young team that could compete and win championships for years. I am coming back to AZ with a "rebuilding" Suns team (two different coaches and no championship) and all of our stars being traded away. When I left the Cardinals were the typical Cardinals never making the play-offs and wanting a new stadium. I come back to them just coming off a last minute lost in the Superbowl? Did I step into the Twilight Zone?"
My thoughts precisely.
After hearing about the HUGE Clipper victory on Tuesday night, I had to tune in to last night's game. I mean who scores 140 points? That had to at least be fun to watch...even if it was just against the Clips. I have to say I was happy with what I saw. Some run & gun again. Do you think Terry Porter feels like a schmuck? I mean did he really think he was going to turn the Suns into a half court team? And what about Suns Management...they had to be okay with that approach, right? I just don't get any of the decisions they have made this whole season, with the exception of firing Terry Porter.
Even the Jason Richardson trade...he fits better now in the run & gun style playing on the wings. Diaw & Raja fit better in the half court {Raja only for his defense...I get he is an awesome wing player}. Diaw just bugged regardless, but we all know he could post up when he stopped being a girl in the paint...he was awesome when Amare was out that season.
My favorite part of the game was the bench reaction to all the high-flying plays. They were having fun & it is good to see that again.
But let's remember, they were playing the Clippers...not the Spurs, not the Celtics, not the Lakers. I'm interested again, but still not impressed.

Our feelings exactly. . . Ryan had lost his Suns Fever--and I never thought it would happen to him. But we watched a little of both games against the Clips. And this morning I see that Ryan is checking out the Suns schedule again. But I can't help but think they are teasing us before another buzzer loss to the Spurs. . .
