San Diego Recap

We had tons of fun in San Diego this weekend with Scot's fam. The weather was beautiful -- we even got to wear jackets! Love that!Zack LOVES spending time at Grammy & Grandpas. Not only does he get endless attention & free reign of the house -- they also have a cat & a dog. This spells heaven for Zack. He wore himself out chasing the "kitty" all through the house. They have a little kitty door on their garage door so Nala (the cat) can go into the garage (where her food & litter box are). Anytime Zack got too aggressive with her she'd run out into the garage. Zack tried his best to coax her back in -- with his face plastered to the kitty door & repeating "kitty, kitty, kitty." Needless to say, the cat never returned while he was there & this turned out to be a great babysitter!
We had lots to celebrate while we were in town -- Dane's graduation, Father's Day & Machele's (Scot's mom) birthday...a little early. We wound them all into one & had a great dinner out minus Zack! It was fun to take some time to eat & chat - my two favorite things - and catch up with each other! In case you were wondering, my tostada was the size of a sombrero.

On Sunday, we re-celebrated Father's Day & Machele's birthday with a big family lunch. We had all been in town for the weekend with the exception of Kristy & her family. With a little coaxing from Scot & I we convinced Sam & Kristy to drive out a few days early on their trip so we could all be together for a couple hours. It was great to have everyone together -- except for Monica's fiance whom she was texting nonstop, so it was like he was there anyway! haha.
We spent some time with our friends the Humberstones. Zack loved hanging out with Cameron & playing with all of his toys. We went to see their new house & it was super cute. Zack pranced right in & made himself at home...no shyness here. Thanks James & Leah for a great dinner & fun conversation!

Since we celebrated Father's Day in San Diego I will post my Father's Day pictures here. I'm so glad Zack has such a wonderful dad. The best thing about Scot is that he truly always has Zack's best interest at heart. He goes to great lengths to spend extra time with Zack & to have fun with him -- and he tries real hard to get him to eat his veggies!!! Thanks Scot for all you do for us!
I love this picture of Scot with his dad & Zack. Scot & Gary are two peas in a pod -- so I suppose it is double the opportunity to tease them! I'm glad they take all my teasing in stride. Scot loves spending time with his dad & I'm so glad they have such a fun relationship.

And...to my dad, this picture captures him perfectly. Why, you may ask? The focus is on Kevin & I & he's in the background making it all happen...that is just like my dad! He has provided myself & my siblings with so many wonderful opportunities. We haven't all always been agreeable with his ideas (a full 3 hours of church on family vacations -- including kiddos.) but he does set an unprecedented example for us to follow in all areas of his life. He works harder & plays harder than anyone I know. Soo...if you are planning on vacationing with my dad get ready to ski until the last run & never ever complain about the cold!

Happy Father's Day to all the great dads! We moms couldn't do it without YOU!

Looks like fun and I am so jealous that you wore a jacket! This AZ weather is killing me! My sis is moving to San Diego, so hopefully I will be taking advantage of the free place to say very soon!!
