Can I just say that I LOVE this time of year??? Nothing is better than Playoff season! There is always an exciting game to watch and I love the displays of athleticism and competition. As you can see Zack & I were ready in our Suns gear...down to his orange socks (compliments of my Aunt Kathy). I did refrain from taking him to church in it...something about it being purple & sleeveless. Our friends, however, did have their little boy in his Mavs gear (his was a bit more subtle than Zack's) anyway...such a disappointment!
Scot and I couldn't wait to get home from church today & get the game started & were of course happy with the results. As much as I hate the Lakers I love watching a Playoff series between us & them...it is always exciting & there is always a possibility of a Kobe clothesline compliments of Raja Bell.
I've been watching the Suns for what seems my entire life. Growing up it was always a treat to go the game with my mom and/or dad...and to be honest, it's still a treat! Some of my favorite memories growing up involve watching the games as a family. No one was a bigger fan than my mom. I remember her being 9 months pregnant with my brother at the start of playoffs in 92-93 (when they went to the finals) and we were always worried the games would send her into labor with all her jumping about! She made it through the first round (which oddly enough was against the Lakers) & then we watched several of the games in the hospital with her & brought Kevin home in a little Suns outfit...are we a bit excessive? Probably, but it's fun!
During half time of today's game they asked Steve Nash his Fave 5 Playoff moments. One of them was when the Suns were playing the Sonics and Rex Chapman hit a 3-pointer from the corner falling out of bounds at the last second to send it into overtime. It was fun to hear him talk about it & see the replays because I remember being at the game with my mom & we were going CRAZY! I must agree with Nash that that was an awesome moment...the Sonics were the underdogs and the Suns had fallen behind. I love those games in the arena when everyone is on their feet!!!
GO SUNS!
