The First of the Lasts

They have begun...the first of the lasts before we move. Today was our last day in our Phoenix ward & oh how we have loved our time spent. Definitely a bittersweet day! Scot and I have met so many fun, new friends & when it seemed we didn't have any fun, new friends we learned that time with each other isn't so bad!

My house is currently filled with boxes and debris, ugh. My floors are a mess with all the in and out going on & I figure why mop until the end, right? But really, it is driving me crazy. I don't do well in messes...especially in my own house. Scot's mom has been in town since Friday helping to pack & play with Zack...she's been a lifesaver! My parents & Kevin & my sister, Lindsey have all been out this weekend to help as well...phew...what would we do without family??? You know you have great family when they are willing to load & unload in this heat! Is anyone else DYING in this weather??? Suffering through this has made a pool mandatory on our next house....

Speaking of which, come the 12th we will be homeless. We sold our house so much faster than anticipated that we don't even have time to find a new one! hah! Funny how that happens. Who wants to look for a house in this weather anyway! So we will be shacking up with my parents (good ol' Max & Deb...gotta love 'em!) until we find our next place. To be honest, both Scot & I are actually looking forward to it in some weird way...we'll have the upstairs to ourselves with the exception of Kevin's video games, which usually involve either Scot or I anyway. Who knows, by the end of this I may be a Dance Dance Revolution champ! The absolute best & worst part of this co-habitation though is the pool. The best because they actually have one...the worst because this is what it currently looks like:
While the pool is big enough for Scot, Zack & I to live in...it is missing one key feature...WATER! Mind you this picture is from a few weeks ago...so just use your imagination & add a few trees & plants along that back wall & you can visualize the progress. My parents had a perfectly functioning pool last year...however, my dad hated it (and really the rest of us agreed, but for now, let's blame him), so after years of plotting & planning he demo'd it (as in filled it in with dirt) and RE-DUG and new one! Who does that? Apparently him. Anyway, here is where we now stand...waterless over the 4th. Upon my arrival, I told my parents I will happily take on the task of Chief Overseer to make sure there is some water before Labor Day! While some of you may think I am sounding a bit ungrateful with my plush accomodations, I assure you otherwise...I truly am grateful that we have a place to land, however, I am willing to help in this endeavor in any possible way!
