I did it. I set my blog to private. I have been putting this off for about a year. Scot has been pro-private since day 1. I like the openness of it. Go figure. Scot hates the 'mean' comments I sometimes receive. I think they are hilarious...or at least entertaining. I love a good debate, so I suppose that is why I don't mind them.
I've had the question asked several times as to why I'm going private & here's the deal {now that I know each & every one of you}
As we all know there are plenty of what my dad likes to call 'weirdos' out there & while I think the blogging community is pretty friendly & supportive of one another...we all know there could be 'weirdos' reading our blogs, right? Ultimately as Zack gets older & leaves the nest more frequently on his own I don't want some 'weirdo' to be able to convince Zack or the sissy that he/she is a friend because they've been able to pull daily happenings or names or locations from my blog. Really it is just too scary and if something ever did happen...I couldn't live with myself.
So that is the 'weirdo' reason.
The other reason is that I have made my blog into a book & if it is public I edit myself as I write. And I don't want the edited version of my own book.
With that being said, I am keeping my Ink'd blog open...it is the happy medium I found with myself.

Good thinking, I just hate it that I can't get your updates on my reader, they need to fix that.
I totally agree! That is the one thing I HATE about being private. I love my google reader!
I am in limbo about going private as well...you nailed it about having an "edited" version of your own book-I too use my blog primarily as a scrapbook of sorts. I've been having a terrible time dealing with Kyler moving to a new location of our house-but don't want to post "personal" info (ie: where he sleeps in our home) on a public forum. Maybe I think too much? Ugh, I too may be moving into the private mode of blogging though.
CONGRATS on that new nephew! And I DID NOT want to hear about a failing epideral 3 weeks before I deliver my baby- my hands are still shaking :)
See you soon, love your new posts- you are an amazing writer and I always enjoy getting on your blog!
