San Diego

Labor Day weekend found us in San Diego. It was a quick trip, but fun nonetheless. Except that I was sick. But what'ev we made the best of it. And I took lots of naps. Isn't that what grammy & grandpa are for?

Oh and Livs aka Pistol...she was a gem. Who would have thunk she had it in her??? Regardless, I was glad she chose that weekend to bust out the charm. Because it hasn't been busted out since!

It was a little too warm for my liking, but still it was MUCH cooler than here, so we were happy. I just love that Zack can play outside to his little hearts content. I am impatiently awaiting fall.

Here's our trip in pics...
Sand crabs. Zack thought these were the coolest. The water was so warm this weekend that Zack was in it constantly. He'd go way out with Scot in is little inner-tube & Scot would push him onto the waves & he'd float right in. I love that he loves to play so hard & isn't afraid to get out there. He had waves going up over his head & once he figured out to keep his eyes shut, he was good to go. We literally had to drag him out of the water. Love that.
He also had fun beachside looking for Uncle Dane surfing...not sure he saw much, but man was he excited to use the binoculars.

Livs was just chillin.
and being cute...like I said, busting out the charm. Maybe it was the weather? Not certain, but by the time we were on our way home she was back to her pistol antics. Crying for 2 hours straight! No joke. After an hour of it we stopped to feed her, snuggle her & put her back in her seat in hopes she'd drift off to never never land. nope. 1 more hour of screaming and 3 hours later, she was still up. Go figure. We hope we are just around the corner of being done with this business.
In an effort to channel her cute calmness that was displayed all weekend long...here's another shot. She constantly has her little hands clasped just so. She loves to get her whole fist in her mouth & then gag on her daddy long leg fingers {really people, they are long!}. And even though she can be a stinker...we love her guts.
In happier news Zack played for hours outside. Tennis was the sport of choice this time. Luckily they have real courts in their neighborhood park. Zack thought he was super cool. He had on his "big shoes" and everything.
He is one funny kid, I tell ya.
And no trip to grammy & grandpas is complete without Truman. Oh man. Does this boy need a dog or what?!? Hours upon hours of entertainment. He is a complete natural with a dog {oh man, did I just say that?}...but seriously, he was not intimidated in the least by this beast of a dog. He knew just what to do...even if it was to ask mom for help. He'd throw him tennis balls for hours & was always willing to give him milk bones. I think they were both in heaven.

Until next time...think of me sweating in the heat.

This pictures of Livs are so cute! I feel like every time I'm around she is sleeping (ex. Saturday) so I never see the crying or the charm. I need to see more of this little girl. Oh, and the pic of Zack with that big ol' dog is hilarious. How much longer til you get on?
