Moving??? Hmmm.

According to my own postings we should be moving one week from today. However, not one box has been packed, nor signature signed...yet. While that may indicate we've made zero progress we have in fact been "moving forward" having the home inspected & the air conditioning looked at. There are a million things to consider & sometimes it leaves my head spinning, but all in all I still think it will work out. After our findings this week we are reconsidering our offer price, as the home needs a little more TLC than we initially thought. Also, the market has, shockingly enough, softened up since our offer. We are also working with a bit of a "disgruntled" seller (which I can understand) and there is the worry that if it isn't immovable, it will be moved out. I've already noticed a shower head missing, a microwave & 3 sets of drapery (only 1 of which I liked)...that only leads me to believe the fans will be gone as well as other "upgraded" light fixtures & at that point, why not the toilet??? Which then leads me back to my offer price. If I have to re-buy all those things & have them installed, etc then I don't think I should be paying for them in my offer. As all of those things were/are included in the sale. Either way it should be interesting & we'll keep you posted!

good luck. It seems like every house we are looking at is a short sale or a forclosure and several shower heads and fans are missing also, so I know how you feel.

Congrats on the house, but Yikes! That's a tough spot to be in.
We thought hard about looking at foreclosures too, and looked into a couple. We were in a pretty similar situation after our house sold quick and we were living with the folks and waiting for the right deal, but there are not as many foreclosures here in our market, and I felt guilty about not buying my own product so to speak, so we didn't end up doing that. Good Luck! I'm sure you'll keep us posted on how it goes.
