Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday was filled with all the usual...treats in your basket, hunting for eggs, delicious dinner, wonderful sacrament talks & strawberry shortcake to top it all off. We still didn't get a picture of all of us in our Sunday best...something about 8:30 am church and a 1-year-old...go figure.
I did manage to snap one of Zack while at church...walking the halls, which in this case was the sidewalk. He is at the worst age for church right now. Too young for nursery & too old to be held. He lasted all of 5 minutes in Relief Society, which means, we didn't even hear the opening song or prayer. Zack was intent on another baby's bottle & thus had to hit the streets. Lucky for us it was a nice day out!

We tried pictures again several hours after church & a good nap...still a no-go. By the time we got to taking one of Scot & Zack you can see Zack was no longer with us. It probably didn't help that my sister was filling eggs on the other side of the camera...Zack definitely knew there were treats to be had & he was not going to give us the money shot we were looking for.

About the bunny ears...those were really in Zack's bag, but since he wasn't up to wearing them I figured I best do it for him. I think they look better on me than him anyway & since they can only be worn twice a year (halloween too) I figured why not?

After a delicious dinner, we had to work it off with an Easter egg hunt. Zack did great...by this point he had it all figured out & was even trying to steal eggs from his cousin Lucy. As you might have guessed, that did not go over too well.

After the kids had their fun, it was time for the adult hunt...this one involving money. In case you weren't aware, we are slightly competitive & I even had to change my shoes for the race off. 7 of us had to hunt for 7 eggs...one for each. We weren't allowed to open them until the end, when my dad held up another egg that we could trade for. Since his egg was "golden" I decided to swap...good choice, I made $20 as opposed to $5. A few other trades were made by Ryan Bennett (who ended up with my original $5) and Scot, who traded the $100 egg for $20...oops...that was my bad, because I told him to. In the end we all opened our eggs & my dad still held the $100...so into a pot all the eggs went & we all drew, where Lindsey ended up with the hot hand. For the record though (see??? a little competitive here!)...I did find the $100 egg...I actually found 3 of the 7 eggs, but had to give 2 away...1 to Scot (the $100) and another to Julie ($1). I definitely tried negotiating for it back but...better luck next year! Thanks mom & dad...
