Question
Am I the only female on the planet that washes my hair everyday??? I ask not because I am proud of this fact, but because I detest that I have to wash my hair everyday. Seriously, it is greasy by night & I sometimes have to add baby powder if I am going somewhere in the evening. I realize that half my problem of quickly greasy hair (eww, that sounds gross) is probably due to the fact that I have washed my hair everyday since I can remember & even washed it twice a day in high school (after sports & stuff). My hair is also super fine though, so that is the other half. What can I do to be rid of this time consuming habit??? Please help! I will even start wearing hats every other day if I have to in order to break myself.

I do the same thing (wash my hair everyday), and I have the same problems, so let me know if you get any good tips. I hope if makes you feel better to know you are not alone.
yeah, well I'd admit that does not happen to my head! I was a faithful every-other-dayer until this last child arrived and now there is an occasional three day stretch. Yeah, gross, I know, but it makes the opportunity to wash hair, let alone shower, so fantastic! I do think it has to do with how fine or thick your hair is though-
If I don't use products I can stretch almost 4 days before it looks greasy....don't ask me how I know that! :) I think everyone gets something that they don't like - some it is greasy hair, others deal with weight issues, others have facial blemishes...you get my drift. I would be grateful that your lot in life is to wash your hair frequently! :) (It's better than some of the alternatives!)
I too had this problem. But, over a year ago I decided to stop the insanity and just DEALT for awhile on the second day of no wash. It seems my head just makes less grease now. I swear, it made grease to make up for what I was washing out everyday and I had to retrain my head. And I've done it successfully. I highly recommend forcing yourself to wash every other day w/ no cheating. I also put mouse in my hair on the wash day to help "absorb". don't know if it's a real thing or only in my head, but I'm pretty sure it helps. baby powder is a good thing too, so keep it up! good luck. my life is so much easier now!
Oh, I am the queen of no hair washing. I can go for four, five sometimes six days and I use product everyday. I have heard that you can train your hair to produce less grease. My little trick... I blowdry it every morning. Mentally it makes me think I am somehow making the grease vanish.
PS - I do take baths in between, I am not that gross.
Have no choice. I have to wash every day!!!!!!!
I used to wash my hair everyday because my hair also was greasy by the end of the day, but I heard that your hair gets used to not washing it every day once you do it a few times. It's true, My hair got used to not being washed everyday and now it's great and not greasy until end of day 2 sometimes day 3. Sometimes I wash my hair twice in the shower and clarify at least once a week and it seems to work and stay cleaner longer. I tend to like my hair the day after wash better now. I always wash every other day now! I also have heard that brushing your hair with natural bristles through out the day helps because it evenly distributes the oil instead of it staying in one spot. I do it and it really helps.
Okay, I totally understand the issue of feeling "icky" when you don't wash your hair everyday. Even if you have bathed and washed everything else, just not having your hair newly washed is hard. BUT, every good hairdresser that I have ever had has said to not wash everyday. My only advice is to invest in a good shampoo/conditioner. There is this new product at Crabtree & Evelyn that is amazing! Good for fine hair. It is called El Source (sp??) I think the better product I use, the easier my hair is and the less greasy. : ) Good luck!
I was my hair almost everyday too! I don't have the greasy problem, but my hair has no volume. If I sleep on it it is even worse! I just seem to feel icky when I don't wash my hair. Good luck!
girl go to sephora and buy the hair powder. i have not tried it but my friend jo is loving it it works wonders and smells fresh.
