Saturday Chores

Yesterday was a long day...but tons got done so I think everyone was happy by the end. My parents got some more outdoor furniture from Costco a while back & it needed to be put together. So my dad, Kevin & Scot tackled that. Zack was delighted to play in the all the boxes & Kevin was even more delighted to build him a box fort.
It was funny how once Kevin saw Zack climbing in, he needed to climb in too. And while Kevin was satisfied with this for um, about 1 second, he decided Zack needed something much better. For those of you who don't know Kevin well, he might actually be a master at building box forts. Him & his 2 friends use to do this all the time when they were little & at one point he was going to build Zack one that was 2 stories. I had to laugh...as if Zack could even get to the 2nd story & not fall once he was there. Too funny.
This was the finished product...notice Zack is no where to be seen? Yes, he was way too distracted to notice all the fine elements of his box fort...like the chair out on the "porch"...very lovely Kev.

Yesterday also brought lots of pool prep items to be done. The first was to get the pool cover cleaned so it could start warming up the water...thus making swim season begin earlier than normal. Zack is addicted to the hose & was thus happy to provide his services. He was initially a little nervous about the sprayer that was attached & it didn't help when Kevin decided to break him in with a full body spray. After a few tears he got over it & when he did get his hands on the hose, he promptly sprayed Kevin, making him run for cover & in the process stubbing his toe & needing a band-aid. Poor baby. Don't mess.
Look at the sheer determination on his face. Kevin...this is face that is always prepared to administer a beat down.
