Playoff Talk

Last week Scot won husband of the year award...a couple times. First, he hasn't complained yet about 1 thing since the missus' arrival & has been super helpful with Scoobs.

Second & most importantly, he came home one day & just informed me on a whim that he upped our cable. We had basic & just hadn't gotten around to upgrading it because frankly, we don't watch that much tv...but with a new baby & some playoff basketball...he hit the jackpot with that decision.

Since we have enjoyed tuning into TNT on a nightly basis & catching up on all the games, scores & Barkley's useless, but funny chatter. Last night we were watching the Lakers/Rockets game & as much as I love to hate Kobe...the guy is clutch. Holy cow...I wish I could like him.

During the game they replayed some vintage Rockets footage from when they won their back to back championships...the clip was Mario Ellie's buzzer beater three from the corner to win the series against the Suns {which then took them to the Finals}. Man...that was heart break hotel...and is it completely lame that I remember right where I was when he hit that three? My parent's had 4 tickets to that game & there were 5 of us available to go...my parents & then us 3 kids {Kev was only 1}. They didn't want to have to choose which of us kids got to go so we had to decide between ourselves & whoever decided to stay home got the face value of the ticket in cash. I decided to stay home & watch Kev & man was I ever glad when he hit that shot. It stinks to be at those games. Really bad.

I was bummed to have missed the Dallas/San Antonio series...in too much of a fog with a new baby at that point. But I thought for sure Dallas would get sent packing...but to have the Spurs out in the first round?!? What?!? That's craziness. What I wouldn't give to have the Suns with their team of 2 years ago playing in a situation where they wouldn't have to face the Spurs.

It is shaping up to be a good finals. I'd love to see a Kobe/LeBron match up...

Man I love the playoffs.
