Weekend in Photos

My birthday falling on the Friday before Memorial Day was perfecto. Scot gets 4-day weekends on all the summer holidays, so he had Friday off. And while it might of made sense to spend the entire day with him...I didn't. I left him with scoobs & took the miss & went shopping with my mom! 2 bathing suits & some shoes {for myself} & another 2 bathing suits & cover up {for my madre} later we were home. It was so fun to just get out for the day without too many worries...although the bathing suit shopping 3 weeks post pregnancy...it was funny. The babes slept the majority of the time & it was so nice to have no agenda to stick to or nap to work around...it's been awhile. We hit up lunch with my dad & just all around enjoyed ourselves.

After I got home, Scot & I went out for the night. Thanks Krista & Dallas for taking Scoobs. I felt too bad to leave him with a babysitter & walk out the door with the baby, so Krista filled in for me. Might I tell you...I think he likes Krista better than me these days.

Memorial Day was filled with the usual...sun, food & swimming. Again the baby did awesome, sleeping the perfect portion of the day...gotta love those newborns! Here's the day in photogs...
The morning started out with the bike brigade. I had a love/hate relationship with this idea & the planning & execution thereof. Maybe things like this happen at your house to: Sunday night I spend the evening packing bathing suits, swim diapers, sippy cups, charging camera batteries, washing pool towels & preparing my salad for the next day. All this to aviod a stressful morning...mind you this is AFTER doing all the "baby" stuff. And while Scot is a HUGE help in all the dinner time/ bath time areas...he's not one to pre-pack a bag for the next day. All night he was debating how he was going to get his bike to my parent's house, etc, etc. After him asking me, um, 1 million times what he should do & me giving him the same reply...borrow our bro-in-laws truck that lives .2 seconds away, I told him that the bike was his problem to solve & be responsible for. I had too many other things to think about.

Fast forward to the next morning, after a not-so-great baby night. Scot is up early with the baby and Scoobs while I get another hour of sleep. I wake up to be informed that we all have to leave in 1 hour & the bike still isn't figured out, the baby needs a bath & to be fed, everyone needs to be dressed & fed breakfast & I still have all the "last minute" items to throw in ...all this so that Scot doesn't have to move Scoobs carseat.

Upon my 20 minute drive with a screaming baby to my mom's I realize I have thus forgotten 3 things. So I basically, drop Scoobs off & head back home to pick them up. I was planning on stopping for a pedicure on my way back, but crapola, they were closed & the baby was still not settled. Fortunately though I was available to meet the bike brigade at Sonic with my wallet so they could all get drinks. Phew.

To Scot's defense he did redeem himself by taking back every sarcastic comment he has ever made about motherhood and fully realized & admitted he couldn't ever hack it in my world & that I basically rock. thank-you-very-much.

and onto Sonic...good thing I went home & got my camera that I had forgotten so that I could take these pictures.

The gang...sans 1 newborn.

Lucy's high flying tricks

raft rides by Kev-dawg {and yes, Scoobs always refers to Kevin as "Kev-Dawg"}
Some more high flying tricks...I tried something similar & let me tell you...I realized the next day, I am NOT 100% as of yet. it hurt.
chicken fights...don't worry, it was just the little girls this year. No way was I going down that path after my diving board extravaganza.
Tuckered out...

Its so nice to be appreciated by husbands, isn't it? For some reason we especially need THEIR appreciation. Kudos to Scot for delivering.

P.S. You looked great in your new bathing suit three months after giving birth! What the heck? Why are you setting those standards!

Um I don't know you Julie but I would like to point out that she looks that good after only 3 WEEKS not even 3 MONTHS! And for the record- I happen to know that you are Scoobs main gal. And you know it too :) Happy weekend. Sorry I bailed tonight. I have an amazing night of cleaning and wrapping gifts for Dallas's b-day tomorrow... not to mention this headache. Ohhhh this headache.
