Happy 4th on the 5th

The 4th of July found us once again in the pool. But as always we have fun & stay cool which is always the bottom line! We are now in what I like to call the dog days of summer. Meaning the temps are over 110 EVERY day thus swimming is a must. No errands get run unless it is dawn or dusk. Hair is in a pony tail everyday & a swimsuit is perfectly fine & normal to be wearing for 8 hours of the day -- when you take that off you are in your comfys. No jeans, no tight fitting shirts -- the cute factor is not being considered these days.
Linds & I. I found these sunglasses in my mom's nightstand (as I was looking for her iPod) and decided they should be mine now, as she never wears them. A new pair of sunglasses just in time for Newport! Sweet.
The fam. Sunscreen? Check. Rash guard i.e. further sun protection? Check. Diet Coke? Check. Let the fun begin! This is Zack's new fave thing to do in the pool. Thanks to Kim for lifting him up endlessly -- Zack & I have tried this game before, but as you all know, I am lacking in the height department. He liked playing with Kim much more as he could hang on the rim! Do we have a baller on our hands??? Kev would be so proud. haha.
Scot found some time for some quality reading during Zack's nap.
Me & Sophie -- she is getting soo big! I love this girl! She is almost exactly 1 year younger than Zack & I can't believe Zack was this age last year. Man, they get big fast!!!
Zack had some major swim break throughs today as well in that he started kicking his legs & moving his arms. He actually looks like he's swimming. Woohoo little man! He will swim to the side & hang on, but he can't quite climb out yet. He also loves to jump off the diving board & he will do that on his own as well (meaning we don't have to throw him, he'll jump off himself). As much as I love that he is making progress he is still scary as ever in the pool. He'll jump off the stairs to you whether you are ready or not!!! He's fallen under several times when we haven't been right next to him & we have to scramble to grab him. Crazy kid!

Looks like a great time! I have been trying to come and try out that pool, something just always seems to get in the way!
