It's the Simple Things

This morning between conference sessions I had the overwhelming feeling that it is the simple things in life that are most enjoyable. Let me set the scene...I was cleaning the kitchen & family room area which had been used & abused throughout the first morning session of General Conference. Scot had just left to work on getting our taxes wrapped up for 2008. I was feeling overwhelmed & teary. No real problem, just battling a 2 year old through lunch & feeling very pregnant in every aspect of the word.

Fast forward 5 minutes & Zack is happily playing outside on the trampoline {that I grew up jumping on}. The back door is open, the sun is shining. The breeze is blowing {flies are coming in, I'm certain}. Zack's "dancing" music is blaring. I'm running dish water & suddenly it hits me...there is nothing else I would rather be doing. This is it & I'd better enjoy it.

And enjoy it I am. Here is our simple week in pictures...
Lately Zack has been obsessed with wearing his Suns hat...why didn't he want to wear it last season when they were good? He has also been loving to shoot baskets. I've taught him a few skills {as really I am the basketball expert in this family} & it is hilarious to watch him. He'll fake...fake...& slam dunk it & then cheer himself on saying..."OOOH YEAH!" And he has been practicing his dribbling as well...trying to go between his legs as I've clumsily shown him as I can't bend quite like I used to to accomplish such a task.
He's also been on some serious bug hunts. Last week when I was edging the lawn I found a lady bug & knew Zack would love it. So we took an edging break & caught & played with the lady bug. Zack loved having it walk all up his arm & ever since has conducted some of his own bug hunts. I thought this all well & good until I was cleaning by the pool at my mom's & came across a scorpion...Zack was not the least bit intimidated by it until I shrieked in horror that he might pick it up.
This past week has found me more tired than I am used to...compliments of Zack's awesome sleeping habits...so we've had some lazy afternoons as well. When he wakes up from his afternoon nap he climbs into my bed & we watch a little show together. My favorite thing is once he gets settled & he'll scoot over & pat the bed saying, "lay down mom?" Why certainly.
Zack found a nice home in his coloring stuff...saying "choo choo." The best part...he thought I should get in the other one. In case he hadn't noticed...
I'm ready to pop. I'm glad he still thinks I'm slim & trim & can fit into that thing. Want a better look?
Eat your heart out. Don't worry...I'm to the point I have strangers stopping me to tell me I look like I'm ready to pop. Gee thanks. Is it rude to respond like I'm not pregnant?

So I showed Kris the prego picture of you and his immediate response was "she has cool shoes"...nothing about the belly...then his next comment was "she is still skinny every where else." Love it..kris saying it like it is.

Good comment Lindsay...you are skinny everywhere else! After the baby comes you can just slip on those skinny jeans and it's all over!
