First Comes Love...

Today marks 4 years of wedded bliss for Scot & I. Okay...I won't be sappy & act like it has all been wedded bliss! But I have to say, for the most part it has been. We've been super blessed in our lives & our marriage & for that I am grateful. Scot & I compliment each other well...ones strength is the others weakness & vice versa...while it can make for some big disagreements, it also makes for some great compromises & lots of learning, growing & leaning on each other. One thing I love about Scot is my ability to have complete faith & trust in him. I'm a pretty independent person & that has always been a hard thing for me, but Scot makes it easy. He calls when he says he's going to call & he's home when he says he'll be home (mostly) & he always thinks through things way better than me...so I never have to worry about lots of little things. Scot will just take care of it. For that I am grateful. Plus, as much as I like to act like he doesn't spoil me...he really does, which every girl loves, right?

Some funny things I remember about our wedding:
~ My wedding dress was ruined 2 weeks prior to my Bridal pictures being taken & 3 weeks prior to our wedding. The seamstress hemmed it 4 inches too short! It was like a scene from a movie...the bride in the slip, bustier & shoes sobbing on the platform surrounded my mirrors. A classic. My favorite part of this whole thing was when the manager of the store told me that not all dresses are floor length anymore. What??? I decided to stand up for myself on this one & flat out told her when it was her wedding she could wear her dress 4 inches short, but for mine, I'll go with floor length. We found another dress & everything worked out, but for awhile, we thought we'd have to do my bridals in overalls!
~Every single one of my mom's sisters (all 5) were in town for the big shin-dig
~My parent's & siblings outdid themselves "roasting" me & Scot at our wedding dinner...yes, I provided plenty of material over the years, but it was BRUTAL!
~My mom & I were late to my sealing because we stopped at Sonic for a Diet Coke. haha...how funny is that???
~We had about 4 different engagement photo shoots...Scot finally put his foot down & wouldn't attend anymore.
~My grandpa passed away while we were engaged & it was a sweet experience feeling him on the other side during such an important time in my life.
~We had a reception in Cali the weekend following the one here & I could barely fit into my dress. Seriously, I wanted to die, it was so tight.
~We were married on a Friday & back in school on Monday. That Sunday night Scot had a study group he had to go to, so I was by myself in our apartment doing laundry at 10 pm...gotta love married life!

Happy Anniversary Babe...love you.

Love it!!! I loved reading all your memories--especially the brutality of the siblings. Yeah baby! Neither Scot or you have really changed much at all. Take that as a good thing, you must wear marriage and parenthood well because it doesn't seem to be aging you!
