Let me just say...Shaq is one big dude! I have seen him play many times, but always with the opposing team. It was slightly bizarre to see him in a Suns jersey. I mean, the Suns have never had a big guy like him in the middle. I am embarrassed to say that the last "big guy" we had was Mark West...and he hardly counts. Not to mention Tim Kempton, Danny Schayes and Pat Burke...quite a dismal past with the center position...big, white, hairy guys, that's all the Suns can bring, until now of course.
Anyway, Scot & I ended up at the game...lucky for him he got a ticket. The other two tickets my dad gave to the Tanners...the family we share the tix with. My sister & her husband were supposed to come, but she couldn't track down a babysitter on a Wednesday night, so they sat it out. All in all it was a great game...even with the lose.
The best part of the game was when Kobe "blocked" Shaq & got called for goal tending & Shaq meanwhile was sprinting down the court. Classic. The whole Suns bench was cracking up...including D'Antoni.
All in all they gelled well for their first game. I would have loved to kicked the Lakers butts as I had to listen to their obnoxiousness all night, but hey I still love our chances in a 7-game series and that is all that matters. Plus, who can complain about the numbers Nash & STAT put up? Definitely helps to have a big guy in the middle. STAT is going to rock the 4 position. I can't wait for Boston on Friday.

By the way, did anyone else hear the Spurs picked up Kurt Thomas??? Man, that bites! The West just keeps getting better!

We so wished we were there! We were laughing when we saw Shaq book it down the court on TV. That was hilarious. We were so bugged because in the last four minutes of the game we had DVR'd the event and were watching it and it had only 2 minutes left of recording. So.....we couldn't see the end of the game! We were so bugged! Anyways, we are jealous of you guys, you suck! j/k!
